Last week

This is the last week at the centre. We've been celebrating Christmas and I got a selection of biscuits from my secret Santa. 

Home crafts

We have finished putting our personalised leaves and months on the birthday tree, I think it's looking really good.

Farm trip

We got to go to Ellendene farms. I enjoyed watching the horses and getting to see puddles the pig. It was a good afternoon out.

Smoko

I have found a new shady spot in the garden to have my smoko!

Relaxing

I'm well known for having the odd nap at Arohanui.....

Foot spa in mirimiri

I got to indulge in my mirimiri session, getting a foot spa!

iPad

I love to check out some interesting things on the iPad. Recently I enjoy looking up things like dance crews and Ellen DeGeneres ! 

Girls outing

I had a cool afternoon at worlds end with the girls from Arohanui. It was choice playing pool and I enjoyed my cold lemonade.......

Mirimiri

I love having some cream on my hands and knees to make them soft. We have mango cream at the moment which smells so good!

Operatunity concert

I went to the operatunity concert at the trinity church today. I really enjoyed myself. The singers sang songs from Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley, Cliff Richard and loads more...... I got to have lunch and a cuppa in the fresh air after the concert.......

Talent show

I enjoyed our Talent quest day. I got up and sung 'Hangi tonight' and 'Unforgettable'. I enjoyed watching everyone else do there songs and dances too.

iPad

I like to use the iPad to watch music videos and catch up on news. Today I am looking at dancing videos.

Maori Themed Koru Painting

I'm really pleased with my painting. It's hanging on the wall in the art room now looking great!!!!

Massage

I was lucky enough to go and have a massage by a professional at Hands to Heal Massage Therapy. I got to lay on a proper massage table and have a relaxing massage! "Tu Meke" 

Kite flying

After last weeks kite making and learning all about kites. We got to take our ones out to fly. I really enjoyed watching them all up in the air flying at once.

New favourite colour

I have a new favourite nail colour! Done in Girls Group this week. I really like it! 

Cultural studies

We have been learning a lot about the country Portugal. We have been making a big fact board about all that we have learnt. Here I am helping to do some of the colouring in.

Sensory art

We made a picture of balloons in sensory art and finished it today so me and my mate kicked back and did some knitting together. It so relaxing 

Bobbys Fish n chips

I went to Bobbys Fish n Chips place on the Strand for lunch. It was one of my goals. I had raw fish for the first time in ages - it was so yum!

Moana FM

I visited Moana FM radio station. I had a go at mixing some songs and got to have a good look around the studio and meet some radio presenters.

We finished our Bali information board - it's a beautiful place and sounds very interesting! 

Silly Hat Disco

We had a silly hat disco and ate some yummy pumpkin soup for lunch. Here I am wearing a rather beautiful butterfly hat!

Sensory

This week I enjoyed laying down and relaxing in my sensory session. They played calming aquatic music that made me almost fall asleep.

Bali

I'm doing some research in Bali - which is one of my goals. I would love to go there one day. We have used iPads and holiday brochures to get information and I'm making a Bali board with the help of some friends. 

Miri-miri

I enjoy Miri-Miri. This week I got my leg massaged and had a head massage. It felt weird and amazing!

Maori culture

I've been doing some pastel maori designs on paper to hang on the wall for Maori culture. 

Girls group

I'm planning what we are going to do for the next three weeks in girls group. Exciting stuff we think

Candle Holders

We started making some candle holders in our upcycling / DIY session. We used old CDs and marbles. They are going to look great!

Whare painting

I've been helping to paint our panels for our whare. I really like the designs that we have chosen to paint on them.

Rose gardens

We visited Robbins Park Rose Gardens with the girls group. Check out these beautiful flowers!

I helped do some painting for the Whare that we are making to go up on the wall.  Bright red! We are going to paint a Maori design on it next.

The disco was cool. I had a neat mask of a peacock. The music was OK loud sometimes so I played some games before we had a bbq

My birthday

I've been celebrating my birthday. Everyone at Arohanui Wilrose sang me happy birthday and gave me a delicious birthday cupcake. I spent the weekend celebrating with family, It was a great!
